BETTER THAN SEX

Power is Sexy!

a musical comedy in two acts

Opened at The Courtyard Theatre, London on 3 August 2010
On tour from 17 September 2010

“The whole thing was more than a little bit Rocky Horror, but infinitely sexier… All in all, a ridiculous romp.”
– Stu Hurford, PinkPaper
“I’ve decided to steal Robert’s ability to meddle with the absurd…”
– Tessa Ditner, Alternative Fringe Reviews
“All is set for a very funny evening.”
– Howard Loxton, The British Theatre Guide
“…the show does have originality on its side and a big, beating heart thanks to an enthusiastic six-strong cast”
– Jonathan Lovett, The Stage
“The result is bold, madcap chaos, as if a GCSE history teacher, undergoing a nervous breakdown, was giving the final lesson of his life. Original, impossible to forget and almost too ridiculous to recommend, this is one of the most bamboozling nights we’ve ever spent at the theatre.”
– BOYZ Magazine, London
“Robert B Suda’s barmy camp musical was first performed in Hungary last year and is now brought to licentious life on the London stage for our bemusement.”
– Jonathan Lovett, The Stage

Prepare to discover the crazy truth behind Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot!

King James I and his transvestite secret agent Lady Domina are organising the most wicked conspiracy in the history of England…

Knowing how unpopular he is with his subjects, the stakes are high for the flamboyant King of England to eliminate the Lords who oppose his extravagant rule. He entrusts the mastermind transvestite Lady Domina to recruit not only the outlaw Guy Fawkes but also a lesbian assassin maid and a gay-for-pay butler to entrap his most notorious enemy, Lord Mammon. Lord and Lady Mammon are invited to Domina’s house to a sleepover that they will never forget…

With the assistance of Hootie Van Ficken, the cunning German courtesan, November 5th 1605 becomes the explosive night that has been etched onto the English calendar to this very day…

Better than Sex was commissioned by the University of Theatre and Television, Hungary, where the show originally opened in 2009 under the title Who The F**k Is Lady Domina?
